Materials Masters Cards can be used as :
  • materials fact cards
  • for materials selection tasks
  • to compare the performance of different materials
  • to play 'Top Trumps'.
What's in the tool?
The pack of 36 cards has already been developed to be used for school as reference cards, illustrating the properties of Metals, Polymers, Natural Materials and Ceramic. In later stage, all 36 cards will be revised and be recognised by our state-of-the-art 'Augmented reality' tool.

The cards were developed in four different categories of cards (ceramic, Metal, Natural Materials, Polymer):

One of Metals cards
One of Ceramic cards
One of Natural Materials card
One of Polymer cards

How is this tool linked to the schools curricula in UK ?
The cards are a useful reference alongside for the Jet-Engine Designer Challenge and images of the cards are used to illustrate material properties within the Journey Through a Jet Engine.

They help younger students to differentiate between different materials classes (metals, ceramics, polymers, natural materials).

How do I get a copy of the cards ?
Packs are available to download for printing or can be ordered as a set of playing cards. They relate directly to testing and performance and materials selection aspects of GCSE and A level courses.
