Our Augmented Reality (AR) toolkit includes a variety of AR games
and puzzles aimed at various key stages. AR tools mix real information
recorded by video camera with virtual images that are digitally superimposed
and can be manipulated. Students can interact with the computer using the Materials Master Cards or actual materials samples - both of which are automatically recognised by the computer via symbols. These symbols can also be printed using a desk-top printer and added to a range of materials for automated recognition. What's in the tool ?
Using just a webcam with our AR software, you can perform the following task: (click on the images to magnify):
How is this tool linked to the schools curricula in UK ?
AR is a new and fascinating technology that requires limited hardware.
It enables intuitive mouse free interaction with the computer while maintaining a link to real materials.
This technology is previously untried in schools, but by incorporating into other tools such as Materials Master Cards and Internet Microscope, this toolkit can directly support across the whole range from primary schoolchildren to A level students. How do I get the software ?
A download link for this software will be available soon, in the meantime,
if you like to take part in our initial trial, please contact us using above feedback link.
