Having taken a " Journey through a jet engine", you are ready to design one for yourself. This Jet-Engine Designer tool allows you to optimise the engine performance by selecting the most appropriate materials.

The best performance in terms of km flown for a given fuel allowance was recorded to produce a league table in later stage.


How is this tool linked to the schools curricula in UK ?
More detailed analysis of the appropriate materials, based on a range of criteria including density, melting temperature, strength, cost, environmental impact, etc selected from the Materials Masters cards.

The pupils will then be able to see how powerful their engine is, how far it would travel and what the environmental impact would be. It will directly support the 21st Century GCSE Science syllabus as well as providing material for Advancing Physics A-Level.
